Engaged by Nasser Bin Khaled Automobiles and Mercedes-Benz Qatar, GHD was lead consultant for an upgrade of the existing Mercedes-Benz main service centre in Qatar.
The project focused on completely new customer contact areas along with refurbishment of some of the existing areas and an extension to the main service centre.
The main challenge of the development was to plan and execute demolitions and construction works on site with no interruption to the ongoing operations. This objective required preparation of detailed construction phasing plan during early design and approval stages.
The existing and new facilities are interconnected functionally so that both service operations and customer experience would meet the strict requirements of the global luxury car manufacturer’s standards.
The development comprises an passenger car reception, administration building and workshop; a brand new commercial vehicles reception-administration and workshop facility; spare parts reception- administration; and a high racking and shelving system warehouse.
The total site area of the development is 50,000 m², with the final completed built up area of all structures being 38,000 m² with 480 car park lots on site.
