GHD was named Best Consultant to the Mining, Oil & Gas industry in the Beaton Client Choice Awards 2017 – the most prestigious recognition program for professional services firms in Australia, where nominations are put forward and voted on by clients. We were also finalists for Best Consulting Engineering Firm and Best Consultant to the Utilities Sector.
Wastewater project shines
The wastewater facility at the US Coast Guard Training Centre Petaluma campus has won the Outstanding Wastewater Treatment Project award from the American Society of Civil Engineers for Region 9 (California) at the recent Infrastructure Symposium and Awards Conference. GHD was the engineer for the wastewater facilities.
Surveying success in UK
The Bransholme Stormwater Pumping Station in Hull has won the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Yorkshire & Humber 2017 Award for infrastructure & design innovation. Two other GHD projects – the St Leonard’s Place and Ilkley Lawn Tennis and Squash Club – also made the prestigious awards shortlist.
#1 in waste
GHD has been named the best large consultancy in the waste sector in Australia for six consecutive years. Announced by Inside Waste magazine, the rankings are based on an annual survey of representatives from the industry, including government, commercial operators and private waste contractors.
Upgrade wins acclaim
The Arizona Water Association has named the 91st Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant Digester 1 Rehabilitation in the City of Phoenix as Project of the Year, recognising the proactive planning, collaborative process, and design innovations that resulted in an efficient implementation of upgrades to this critical public infrastructure.
Diversity at the forefront
GHD’s ongoing pursuit of diversity and inclusion in Australia has seen us win three awards from the Women in Resources association. In Tasmania and the Northern Territory, we won the Excellence in Diversity Programs & Performance Award, while Rob Lowther was recognised as a Gender Diversity Champion for Tasmania.
Architecture practice leads the way
GHDWoodhead has reinforced its position as one of the world’s largest architecture practices, ranking as #3 among Australasia-based practices and #71 globally on the World Architecture Top 100 listing (up from #90 last year). Published annually by UK-based magazine Building Design, the list analyses multiple metrics.
Grand award for pumping project
GHD’s work on Pump Station 71 for the City of Scottsdale, Arizona, has been awarded the 2016 American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Arizona Engineering Excellence Grand Award. The project exemplifies how a city can maximise the value of infrastructure projects for the benefit of the public. GHD served as prime design consultant.
Coveted property award
Our integrated design practice in New Zealand, GHDWoodhead creativespaces, has made a splash at the Property Council NZ Industry Excellence Awards, with the Vector Wero Whitewater Park taking the prize in the tourism and leisure category. The project is the country’s first purpose-built artificial whitewater facility which comprises two courses.
